The Alberta Utilities Commission has approved applications from Buffalo Plains Wind Farm Inc. to construct and operate a new approximately 15.5-kilometre, 240-kilovolt transmission line to connect the approved Buffalo Plains Wind Farm to the Alberta Interconnected Electric System, through Buffalo Plains Wind Farm Inc.’s approved Amber 611S Substation. The AUC issued a notice of application on March 1, 2022.
AltaLink Management Ltd. has been approved to connect the existing Milo 256S Substation to the proposed Transmission Line 1097L and alter both Milo 256S Substation and existing Transmission Line 1036L to accommodate this connection.
The map below identifies the routes by Buffalo Plains Wind Farm Inc. which includes the preferred route that was approved in the AUC’s decision and an alternate route that was also considered in this proceeding.
The eFiling System should be accessed to view the applications and the other documents the AUC will be considering in this proceeding. The system is also used to file submissions and evidence to participate in the proceeding.
