Overview

Eastervale Solar Inc. has applied to construct and operate a 300-megawatt solar power plant along with a 200-megawatt utility-scale battery energy storage facility, located in portions of eight quarter sections within townships 39 and 40, Range 8, west of the Fourth Meridian, approximately 10 kilometres southwest of the village of Hughenden.

In association with the solar power plant and battery energy storage system, Eastervale Solar Inc. has also applied to construct and operate a collector substation located in the southwest quarter of Section 2, Township 40, Range 8, west of the Fourth Meridian. The applications have been filed under the Hydro and Electric Energy Act.

Hearing information

The Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC), the independent utilities regulator, will be considering the power plant, substation and battery energy storage system development applications in Proceeding 28847. Hearing dates will be communicated in due course.

Participant information session 

The AUC holds information sessions to provide information about how to have your say and become involved in its proceedings.
