The AUC will be considering the power plant development applications in Proceeding 29312.
Rising Sun Inc. has applied for approval to construct and operate a 125-megawatt solar power plant designated as the Rising Sun Solar Project and the 1147S Rising Sun Substation. The power plant and substation would be sited on 261.5 hectares of cultivated land, located approximately 12 kilometres west of Provost, Alberta, in the north half of Section 10 and 11, in Township 39, Range 4, west of the Fourth Meridian. The applications have been filed under the Hydro and Electric Energy Act.
