The AUC has approved applications for a solar power plant and associated transmission development north of the city of Airdrie

The Alberta Utilities Commission has approved applications from General Land & Power Corp. for approval to construct and operate a 75-megawatt solar power plant and associated substation. The Sollair Solar Energy Power Plant and Sollair 1055S Substation will be located on approximately 476 acres of cultivated land in Rocky View County. The substation will contain one 138/34.5-kilovolt (kV) transformer, one 138-kilovolt circuit breaker and associated substation equipment. The power plant and substation will be located adjacent to the north boundary of the city of Airdrie within Section 26, Township 27, Range 29, west of the Fourth Meridian.
The map below identifies the applied-for area by the Foothills Solar GP Inc., which includes the project boundary and substation location which were approved in this proceeding.
The eFiling System should be accessed to view the applications and the other documents the AUC will be considering in this proceeding. The system is also used to file submissions and evidence to participate in the proceeding.
